Franconia Notch Ridge Trail
(revisited) 7/12/00

After being trapped on Lincoln for over an hour last year during a lightning storm, we just had to go back when the weather was in our favor.
Heading up the Old Bridle Path we checked in at the Greenleaf Hut for a snack and topped off our water.
Next stop Lafayette, it was a bit cool with a brisk wind blowing across the summit, the skies were clear and sunny and the views were incredible.
Starting across the ridge, we went over Lincoln to the very spot we hung out during the storm, then over to Haystack, taking the Falling Waters Trail down.
Talking with the hut people they say the weather is usually good in the morning then at times can start to cloud in by 2ish, giving the chance of thunderstorms, so leave early just in case. Its 1.7 miles from the Lafayette summit to the Falling Waters Trail, thats a long way being exposed to the weather.
With the Presidentials on one side of you and Cannon to the other makes this Ridge Trail a must on your list.
