Hiking,

activities. We teach skills, run backcountry lodges (open to all), fix trails,
publish guides, help with land stewardship, work on conservation issues - and
have a great time together enjoying the great outdoors.

This site has a vast

The Hiking/Backpacking Committee hiking information and resources is
just one aspect of, The Boston Chapter of the Appalachian Mountain Club. Its a
group of about 20 volunteers who help coordinate hiking and backpacking outings
and activities in New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine.
The Maine
Appalachian Trail Club is a volunteer nonprofit organization that maintains 267
miles of the Maine Appalachian trail. MATC brings people together, uniting
common interests in the outdoors and the Appalachian Trail. Lasting friendships
and new-found skills abound amongst MATC members. Anyone can join in to help
preserve our trails. The Horns Pond lean-to project 7/98 is just one of many
ways the MATC preserves our trails. Please stop by to get the latest AT

works.
MOAC:
Maine Outdoor Adventure Club,is a year round organization that welcomes people
of all skill levels from beginner to expert.They have members of all ages each
with different experiences and goals. Learn to rock climb, roll a kayak, bike
in Nova Scotia - the possibilities are limitless. Share your knowledge and
expertise with others who appreciate anything you may have to contribute.
