06.16.03 I have been torn
to attach this to the website, however for the time being I will try it.
For the people who will never be able to visit this area I have a few photos of
the crash site, where seven individuals lost their lives. I do not want to
disrespect these folks but would like to have them remembered.
The tail
section can be viewed from North Brother. Venturing to Fort Mountain is a
very arduous and time consuming bushwhack. There is really no clearly
marked trail, the terrain is very thick and rugged. If one was to venture there
a knowledge of map, compass, GPS and bushwhacking ability along with adequate
time to complete a safe journey would be vital. We started our adventure from
Slide Dam and easily consumed 12 hours. I do not recommend this hike at
all.
I took a few photos and reflected on the folks that lost their
lives there. If you choose to go please respect the site.
